The massive topwaters require a level 62 rod and level 64 reel to be able to land the epic 50kg+ topwater carps. And yes, the top water carps in Germany can be massive and require at least a level 53 Majesty match rod to safely reel in. This kind of mix speeds carp spawning but does not render large sized carps like a feeder mix with particles would. There are old school mix work arounds at level 42, but it uses very expensive pellets groundbait along with a companion feeder mix. While you can hand cast short distances, it's inaccurate and might not be far enough to catch the larger carps. A large enough spod rocket unlocks at level 49 but you really should get the level 50 xl spod rocket. The particles you need unlock at levels 45 and 47. You won't have access to particles for quite some time. Level 42 is too low to access the groundbait ingredients and the spod set up that give you great top and bottom carp action.
